The Rise Up! project was launched in 2014 by a volunteer committee with the goal of creating a digital archive of original publications, documents, flyers, posters and many other materials representing feminist activism from the 1970s to 1990s. The archive provides a vivid picture of feminist activism in the decades following the report of the Royal Commission on the Status of Women. The Engendering Public Engagement, Democratizing Public Space project provided a small amount of financial support to the archive to scan documents found in the Nellie Langford Rowell Women’s Studies Library at York University.
